Dodge Viper Redefines Automotive Dominance
Posted on November 18, 2015
When it comes to the high-profile world of supercars, automakers don't have to do a whole lot to prove that their vehicles are some of the best available. Though many automakers will only offer up performance and power figures, which don’t always tell the whole story of the vehicle's capabilities. For Dodge, proving that the Dodge Viper is the apex predator of the supercar world requires more than simply offering up numbers, and instead opting to showcase what the Viper is capable of. To do this the 2016 Dodge Viper was set upon a number of racetracks, where it would seek to set a new production car track record.
The following video gives us a great, on-board look as the Viper takes a record setting run around the legendary Laguna SECA raceway. Driver Randy Pobst utilizes the Viper in such a way that setting a new record looks effortless.
The new Viper is powered by a 645-Horsepower engine, which enables a top track speed of 206mph, and a zero to sixty time of roughly three seconds. These astonishing numbers are sure to impress many fans, but they don't fully elaborate on the adrenaline-charged thrills that await within the Dodge Viper. Of course, the Viper isn't the only Dodge performance vehicle worth mentioning, as the Dodge Charger and Dodge Challenger present formidable performance options for drivers of all kinds.
