2018 Jeep Compass| Safest SUV | Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton
Posted on July 6, 2018
Safety conscious drivers in Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton and Oakville take note: For the second year in a row, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety awarded the Jeep Compass the Top Safety Pick in the SUV category. Redesigned in the middle of the model year in 2017, the Compass snagged the first award and has gone on to capture it again for 2018. The non-profit safety watchdog has strict guidelines for the awards they hand out, so this distinction has street cred of the kind you count on.
For the 2018 model year, the Compass
scored Good ratings in all five crash tests, including a new test for passenger-side small overlap in front. In the crash avoidance category, it ranked with a Superior rating. Opting for an Advanced Safety and Lighting Group package with this vehicle has benefits: the 2018 Compass avoided collisions in the IIHS’s low-speed 12 mph and high-speed 25 mph tests, qualifying it for a Superior rating in this category, too.
Jeep has redesigned the Compass
with their core market in mind, with several trims to choose from and excellent add-on packages like the one mentioned above for enhanced safety options. It’s an SUV perfectly suited to urban drivers in the GTA. If you’re not yet familiar with the Jeep brand, it might be time to explore the iconic family of vehicles
